  1. You will have a plaster over your wound, please keep it dry for 48 hours, then please remove it leave it open to the air, as this helps your wound to heal better (unless stated differently by the doctor)
  • You must keep this area dry for 48 hours. After this, you may wash or shower the areas but you must not soak in the bath or swim until the wound is completely healed.
  • If you have dissolving sutures, which take 2-3 weeks to dissolve. No need stitches removal.
  • If you have any pain after the procedure please take a painkiller (Paracetamol or Co-dydramol), which does not contain Aspirin or Ibuprofen, as this will increase the risk of bleeding.
  • Do not lift anything heavy or over-stretch the wound, as this may cause more scarring.
  • Smoking also delays wound healing, hence stopping or reducing smoking will be beneficial.
  • If the wound bleeds, press on it gently but firmly for 15 minutes. If it continues to bleed after 15 minutes pressure, seek medical advice.  If the wound is on the head or neck, rest with the head raised.
  • If the area becomes red and swollen; increasingly painful and tender or discharge watery fluids or pus then you may need a course of antibiotics (if you are not on). Please seek urgent medical advice by contacting us or visiting an emergency department if outside working hours.
  • We should contact you with the results within 2-3 weeks’ time. If we don’t, please contact us

If you are worried, please do not hesitate to contact us tel./WA 043838333 or email patientcare@c37.ae. Working hours are 9am to 6pm (Saturday -Thursday).
